STORRS, Conn.- UConn track and field returns to action this weekend to compete in the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston and the Harvard Invitational in Cambridge.
The Huskies posted strong performances last week at the Penn Elite Meet in Philadelphia. Maresa Hense broke the school pentathlon record with 4,201 points, winning the event and earning BIG EAST Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors. Hense ranks third in the country in the pentathlon. The team of Hense, Ruby Tillson, Mackenzie Braunstein and Alyssa Elliott currently sit second in the country in the first weekly USTFCCCA event squad rankings.
Marshall Potter set a new personal best in the shot put with a throw of 17.99m. Potter's performance ranks second all-time in program history and earned the freshman BIG EAST Men's Field Athlete of the Week recognition for the second time this season.
The Terrier Classic kicks off on Friday morning on the women's side. Track events start at 10:00 am, and field events start at 10:30 am. The men will compete on Saturday with the same schedule. The meet will be streamed on FloTrack.
The Harvard Invitational begins on the men's side Friday morning and the women's side on Saturday, with the meet being streamed on ESPN+.
