UConn Doubles Team Advances at ITA Regional

NEW HAVEN, CT – The UConn doubles team of Chloe Lomans and Ela Platenikova advanced to the round of 16 at the 2026 ITA Women's New England Regional Championship on Friday at Yale University Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center on Saturday.
The team of Lomans and Platenikova moved on to the round of 16 thanks to an 8-5 win over Madison Smith and Anna Cherico from Army West Point. The duo will now face Julia Werdiger and Ziye Liu from Yale.
The team of Victoria Matos and Abigail Elham came up just shy of advancing to the round of 16, losing 8-7 (7-1) to the Dartmouth team of Sam Grosjean and Alexandra Orlins.
In the main singles draw, Lomans advanced into the round of 16 thanks to a straight-set win over Michelle Ryndin of Cornell. Lomans took the first set 7-6 (8-6) and then closed it out with a 7-5 win.
Lomans would see her tournament come to a close on the singles side in the round of 16, falling to Lauren Kettlewell of Boston University. Lomans fell 6-3 and 6-3.
Ela Platenikova came up short in her bid to advance to the round of 16, falling to Zyie Lue of Yale 6-0, 6-0. Karolina Lincer also failed to advance, failing to Michela Moore of Dartmouth, 6-4 and 6-2.
