No. 1 Huskies to Host Providence for Senior Day

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (28-0, 17-0 BIG EAST) hosts Providence (14-14, 7-10) Sunday at noon in Gampel Pavilion for Senior Day. The game will air on FS1 and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
UConn will honor Ice Brady, Caroline Ducharme, Azzi Fudd, Ayanna Patterson and Serah Williams in a postgame ceremony. The ceremony will be streamed on the UConn women's basketball X and Facebook pages, the UConn Huskies YouTube page and UConn+.
Since Ducharme and Fudd arrived in 2021, the Huskies have compiled a 159-21 overall record. UConn has won the 2025 National Championship, appeared in two NCAA Championship games and three Final Fours and won nine conference championships in their five seasons.
With a win over Villanova last Wednesday, the Huskies clinched the 2025-26 BIG EAST regular season championship. UConn will be the No. 1 seed in next month's BIG EAST Tournament.
Including BIG EAST Tournament games, the Huskies have won 64 straight league games.
Fudd had 25 points and sophomore Sarah Strong has 21 points, 12 rebounds and five steals and UConn overcame a halftime deficit to beat Villanova, 83-69. Junior Ashlynn Shade had 13 points, six rebounds and five assists vs. the Wildcats. UConn trailed 40-37 at halftime before outscoring Villanova 26-12 in the third quarter.
UConn is 51-21 all-time vs. Providence and has won the last 38 meetings between the teams. The teams last met on Dec. 31 in Providence, a 90-53 win for the Huskies. Fudd has 19 points, six assists and four steals in the game while Strong had 17 points and seven rebounds.
Providence has won its last four games, most recently a 66-60 victory over DePaul. This season, Sabou Gueye leads the Friars with 15.3 points per game. Head coach Erin Batth is in her third season at Providence.
