No. 1 UConn to Finish Regular Season at MSG vs. St. John’s

STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked UConn women's basketball team (30-0, 19-0 BIG EAST) plays its regular season finale vs. St. John's (21-9, 11-8) at Madison Square Garden Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The game will air on TNT/truTV and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (FOX Sports 97.9).
UConn beat Georgetown, 84-52, in the Huskies' final game in Hartford this season on Thursday. Graduate student Azzi Fudd led UConn with 24 points and added five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Sophomore Sarah Strong had her eighth double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds and added seven assists.
UConn has reached 30 wins in a season for the 29th time in program history and the fifth straight season.
The Huskies won the 2025-26 BIG EAST regular season championship and will be the No. 1 seed in next month's BIG EAST Tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
Including BIG EAST Tournament games, the Huskies have won 66 straight league games.
UConn is 7-0 all-time at Madison Square Garden, including 3-0 vs. St. John's. The Huskies last played in the World's Most Famous Arena in 2015.
UConn is 53-18 all-time vs. St. John's. The teams last met on Jan. 7 in Hartford, an 88-43 win for UConn. Sophomore Sarah Strong led UConn with 24 points, five assists and six steals in the game.
UConn senior Serah Williams is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., while sophomore Kayleigh Heckel is from Port Chester, N.Y.
St. John's beat Seton Hall, 59-56, in the team's last game. This season, Brooke Moore leads the Red Storm with 12.2 points per game. Head coach Joe Tartamella is in his 14th season at St. John's.
