Mooney, O'Connor and Hense to Compete at Mt. Sac Relays

STORRS- UConn men's and women's track and field will send three multievent athletes out west this week to compete in the Mt. Sac Relays.
Josh Mooney and Diarmuid O'Connor will compete in the decathlon that will take place on Wednesday, April 15th and Thursday, April 16th. Maresa Hense will represent the Huskies on the women's side, competing in the heptathlon on Wednesday and Thursday as well.
Mooney has gotten off to a strong start in the outdoor season, taking third in the 110m hurdles at both the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational and the UConn Dog Fight, with respective times of 14.21 and 14.07.
O'Connor also competed in the hurdles in Myrtle Beach, running a time of 15.66 at the Shamrock Invite. O'Connor ran in the 400m at the UConn Dog Fight, crossing the line with a time of 49.20.
After earning second-team all-America honors during the indoor season, Hense made her debut at the UConn Dog Fight, winning the long jump at 5.92m, and a member of the winning UConn 4x400m team that crossed the line at 3:44.97. Hense competed in the 100m hurdles, finishing fourth at 13.93.
The heptathlon will begin at 1:00 pm with the 100m hurdles and the decathlon will commence with the 100m dash at 2:30 pm.
