Paul Wettemann III is entering his 12th year with the UConn Menโs Basketball program, elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Men's Basketball Administration ahead of the 2026-27 season.ย
Wettemann handles allย administrative and compliance policies within the athletic departmentย related to men's basketball, including but not limited toย budget preparations, team travel, recruiting travel, and coordination of official recruiting visit logistics.ย He works closely with members of theย department in regards to Compliance, Marketing, Tickets, Business Office/Budget Preparation, Athletic Administration, and revenue generation opportunities.ย
He also manages the day-to-day operations of the program which includes the organization of the practice calendar, academic support, community service events andย Coach Dan Hurleyโs calendar.
Prior to his current position, Wettemann served as Director of Menโs Basketball Administration (2022-26), Assistant Director of Basketball Operations (2020-2022). Before that time, he served 5 years as an undergraduate student manager (2015-18) and then Graduate Head Manager (2018-2020) before joining the Huskiesโ staff in a full-time capacity.
Wettemann graduated from UConn in 2018 with a bachelor of science degree and earned his masterโs degree in Sport Management in Mayย 2020. A Guilford, Conn. native, he graduated from Guilford High School in 2014.ย
Wettemann married his wife Danieka in August of 2024.ย
