Ashley Buschgans enters her first season as the Volunteer Assistant coach for the Huskies in 2023. Buschgans previously worked as a student manager for the team for the past three and half years.Â
Buschgans is from Waldwick, NJ and attended Waldwick High School where she was a four year varsity letter winner for softball, basketball, and soccer. Buschgans as a softball player was a four year First-Team All-League player in her conference and a two time Second Team All-County Player.
Buschgans has assisted in coaching for her high school since 2020, and has given private lessons. She continues to grow the game by volunteering to teach Stafford Little League softball players as well as volunteers for camps back home.Â
Buschgans currently plays for the UConn Club Softball team and has been the president of the club for the past year, helping the team win Regionals and advance to Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia.
Buschgans will graduate in May 2023 with a degree in Allied Health Sciences and a minor in Engineering Management.Â
