Shelby Brownfield Honored as BIG EAST Rookie of Week

PROVIDENCE, RI (Oct. 16, 2000) -- Freshman Shelby Brownfield
of the University of Connecticut womens
soccer team was honored by the BIG EAST
with the Rookie of the Week award for the
week of October 9.
Brownfield saw action in all three of UConns games last week, a 1-0 loss to Yale, a 5-0 shutout over Georgetown and a 6-1 win over Rutgers. She scored two goals on two shots versus Rutgers, and was an offensive threat in all three matches.
Connecticut returns to action on Wednesday when they host Dartmouth in a non-conference game at Morrone Stadium scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
