Women's Basketball Supershow Set

STORRS, CT (Oct. 15) - The University of Connecticut women's basketball 2000 Supershow will be held on Sunday, Oct. 22nd at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, with doors opening at 3:00 p.m. and the show beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Before the 2000-2001 Husky squad scrimmages, fans can take in various entertainment, including t-shirt giveaways, The Shooting-Challenge, the "Best Seat in the House" contest putting a lucky fan on the bench during the scrimmage, and a shoot to travel contest, allowing a lucky fan the chance to be an honorary team manager at an away game. The event is free to the public. An autograph session will follow the scrimmage.
UConn will start the 2000-2001 season with an exhibition contest, facing Sweden on Friday, Nov. 3rd in the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. UConn's first regular season game will be on Sunday, Nov. 12 when the Huskies take on Georgia, a preseason top five pick, at 4:00 p.m. in the Hartford Civic Center in the second game of the State Farm/Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic. The game will be televised live on ESPN.
UConn, the defending NCAA National Champions, finished its title run with a school record 36 wins (36-1), winning its tenth BIG EAST regular season title and ninth BIG EAST Tournament title.
