Busy Soccer Weekend At Home

On Friday (Oct. 20), the UConn mens soccer team will battle BIG EAST rival Georgetown at 7 p.m. under the lights at Morrone Stadium in Storrs, UConn, ranked No. 6 in the nation, will enter the match with a 9-2-2 overall record and a 4-1-2 mark in the BIG EAST. Georgetown, riding a three-game winning streak, enters the match with an 8-4-1 overall record and the Hoyas are 4-3-1 in the BIG EAST.
The focus shifts to UConn women's soccer on Saturday evening (Oct. 21) at 7 p.m. at Morrone Stadium when the No. 25 nationally-ranked Huskies host Notre Dame, the No. 1 ranked team in the nation. Connecticut is 12-5-1 overall and the Northeast Division champion in the BIG EAST with a 5-0 mark. Notre Dame is a perfect 15-0 overall and the champions of the Mid-Atlantic Division of the BIG EAST with a 6- 0 mark.
On Sunday afternoon (Oct. 22) at 1 p.m., the UConn men's soccer team is back at Morrone Stadium for a BIG EAST meeting with West Virginia. The Mountaineers are 4-10-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the BIG EAST.
The Saturday evening Connecticut-Notre Dame women's soccer match and the Sunday afternoon Connecticut-West Virginia men's soccer match will both serve as the featured games of SoccerFest 2000 weekend at the University of Connecticut.
SoccerFest 2000 will feature interactive activities for fans of all ages. Games, music, autograph sessions and much more! SoccerFest 2000 begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday evening before the UConn-Notre Dame women's soccer match and SoccerFest 2000 will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday before the Connecticut-West Virginia men's soccer match.
