Ashley Battle Out With Torn UCL

STORRS, Conn. (DEC. 7)-- An MRI Wednesday night revealed that University of Connecticut freshman women's basketball player Ashley Battle (Pittsburgh, PA) suffered a torn UCL (Ulnar Collateral Ligament) in her left elbow diving for a ball during a contest versus Miami in Coral Gables, FL, on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Battle will undergo surgery to repair the torn ligament on Friday, Dec. 8, at Manchester Hospital and is expected to be sidelined for up to eight weeks.
