Women's Hockey Drops 9-0 Decision to Findlay

FINDLAY, OH -- The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team suffered a 9-0 loss to Findlay in Findlay, OH on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, UConn drops to 2-6 overall, while Findlay improves to 9-11-1 on the season.

Janet Ploncinsky led the Oilers with three goals. Stasia Bakhit, Abbey Strong and Erin Blair each recorded a goal and an assist on the day.

The Oilers outshot the Huskies, 40-7. Diana Cohen (South Salem, NY) stopped 31 shots on net. Findlay's Nickie Kelly, Sherrie White and Erin Blair each saw time in net combining for seven saves.

UConn will take on Holy Cross on January 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the UConn Ice Arena in Storrs.
