Men's Tennis Falls to Army, Stonybrook in Doubleheader

UConn's first match against Army had sophomore Max Zubatsky (Milwaukee, Wis.) and sophomore Joe Lang (Winchester, Mass.) claiming winners in singles pairings. In No. 2 action, Zubatsky defeated John Sabia, 6-4, 6-4, while Lang downed Rafael Albornoz, 6-3, 5-7, 7-6, at No. 5. Lang also paired with sophomore Mike Furman (Allentown, Pa.) for the non-scoring doubles win over Marshall Clay and Andy Burdette, 8-6, at No. 1.
Doubles sets were swept against Stony Brook using the winning combinations of Furman-Lang, Zubatsky-Bryan Adinolfi (Hamden, Conn.) and Andy Sweatt (Reno, Nev.)-Luke Grimshaw (Frederick, Md.) Sweatt would be the only singles winner versus Stony Brook, defeating Gareth Williams in three-sets 7-5, 5-7, 6-4, at the No. 3 spot.
Connecticut falls to 4-9 for the season and returns to action on March 16-25 during its spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. The Huskies will compete against Stetson on March 18 at 11 a.m., Bethune-Cookman on March 19 at 9 a.m. and Portland State on March 23 at 8 a.m.
