Rowing Competes at Knect Cup

The Novice 4 squad finished first in a time of 8:48.2 to advance to the finals in the afternoon session on Saturday. Villanova claimed second place (8:54.5), followed by Vassor (9:02.7) and Forest-Stockton (9:16.0)
The Varsity 8 team rowed to a second place finish in their heat in a time of 7:22.6, also advancing to the finals in Saturday's afternoon session. Boston College placed first (7:11.5), then UConn, followed by Layola (7:27.7), Villanova (7:28.4) and St. Joseph's (7:33.0).
The Varsity 8 squad placed fourth in the six-team field. St. Joseph's claimed first (7:34.8), Villanova was second (7:39.9), Rhode Island placed third (7:48.8), followed by Connecticut (7:55.4), Fairfield (7:59.4) and Villanova B, which did not register a time.
The last squad to row was the Novice 8, who placed third. Navy claimed first (7:38.7), Boston College was second (7:43.4), UConn was at an even 8:00.7 in third, while URI (8:11.9) and LaSalle (8:17.5) took the fifth and sixth spots respectively.
UConn's Novice 4 and Varsity 8 squads will compete in the afternoon session in the final heats.
