Goldkind Receives Verizon Academic All-America Honors

Goldkind, a Biological Science major (3.77 GPA), ended the 2000-01 season with 10 goals and 23 assists for a team leading 33 points. He had a seven-game and five-game point scoring streak during the season, recorded nine-multiple point games and recorded four power play goals and two game-winners. He was named to the 2000-01 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for the third straight season and was an All-MAAC Second Team selection. Last year, he was named to the 1999-2000 CoSIDA GTE Academic All-District Second Team. Goldkind completed his four years as a Husky scoring 35 goals and assisting on 77 others for 112 career points. He leaves ranked third in all-time games played at UConn with 126.
Connecticut finished the season after falling to Canisius College in a quarterfinal game of the 2001 Easton/MAAC Championship on March 10 in Buffalo. The Huskies had an overall record of 12-19-4 and 12-12-3 record in conference play.
