UConn Places 2nd At URI Invitational

MIDDLETOWN, RI- University of Connecticut men's golf team finished second to host Rhode Island at the URI Invitational held at the Green Valley Country Club in Middletown, RI, on Saturday and Sunday. The Huskies shot a two-day team score of 626 as runner-ups. Rhode Island won the team competition shooting a 601 and placing four golfers in the top 10, at the par 71, 6,830 yard course.
Medalist honors went to Mike Carbone (URI), who shot par on day one, and led the field with a two-day score of 144. UConn placed two golfers in the top 10 led by Sean Vigue (Lebanon, CT) who carded a 153 to finish tied for fourth on the weekend. Geoffrey Reilert (Simsbury, CT) paced the Huskies on day one shooting a 77 and finished the tournament with a two-day score of 155 to capture eighth place.
UConn concluded its spring season at the URI Invitational.
