Men's Golf Seventh At MacDonald Classic After One Round

ABSECON, N.J. (October 28) – The University of Connecticut’s men’s golf team shot a 328 (+44) to tie Loyola (MD) College for seventh place in the opening round of the inaugural John MacDonald Classic, hosted by Temple University at the par-71 Galloway National Golf Club in Absecon, New Jersey. Rutgers holds the tournament lead after one round with a 300 (+16).
Justin Ciombor led the way for UConn, placing 21st with an 80 while Mike Murphy was close behind, tying for 24th, with an 81. Some different faces are in the UConn lineup for the weekend. Jordan Burke, playing in his second tournament of the year, is tied for 28th after one round with an 82, Chris Walton is tied for 39th in his season debut after shooting an 85 and Michael Hornug placed 42nd in his second event of the season with an 86.
The second and final round will go off at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. This is the final fall event for the Husky golfers.
