Huskies Place Ninth in BIG EAST Championship Race

BOSTON, MA (Nov. 1) - The University of Connecticut women's cross country team placed ninth in the BIG EAST Championship race at Franklin Park in Boston, MA on Friday. Notre Dame edged out Georgetown by one point as the Irish claimed their first women’s BIG EAST title in the program’s history. Notre Dame had the top two finishers leading the way over the 6000-meter course. Sophomore Lauren King claimed top honors with a time of 20:23. Teammate Molly Huddle, a freshman, crossed the finish line second with a time of 20:28.
UConn finished with 273 points, as Kristen Meyer led the Huskies, finishing 50th overall in a time of 22:39.
