BIG EAST Post-Season Awards Announced

STORRS, CT (Nov. 22) - Seniors Christine Lambert and Melissa Wooley of the University of Connecticut women’s volleyball team, received postseason BIG EAST honors announced Friday, at the BIG EAST Championship banquet. Lambert was selected to the All-BIG EAST first team, while Wooley was named to the All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention team.
Lambert is second in the league and 16th nationally in blocks per game with 1.51. She also leads the team in hitting percentage at .280 and is third in kills per game with 3.04. Lambert also has posted the second best individual season performance in UConn history in blocks with 148 total blocks.
Wooley leads the team in kills per game with 3.93. She is only the seventh player in UConn history to record 1,000 kills in her career and is currently ranked third on the UConn career kills list with 1,352.
UConn will be in action at the BIG EAST Tournament in semifinal action against Notre Dame on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, PA.
