UConn 10th after first two rounds at USD Invitational

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 18) - The University of Connecticut men’s golf team sits tied in 10th place after the first day of competition at the 15th Annual USD Invitational on Monday. The Huskies combined for a two-round total of 631 while San Diego State leads the field with a 587.
Pacing the Huskies was freshman Mike Murphy (Woburn, MA), who fired rounds of 77 and 78 for a total of 155 and stands tied for 28th. Senior Sean Vigue (Lebanon, CT) followed up his team-best, two-over-par 74 in the first round with an 83 in the second. That score has him tied for 35th place
Seniors Kevin O’Connor (East Lyme, CT) and Kevin Coghlan (Northridge, CA) are both tied for 56th with scores of 161. Freshman Justin Ciombor (Plainville, MA) rounded out the UConn squad with a score of 168, which ties him for 78th.
San Diego State's Mark Warman leads all competitors after carding rounds of 68 and 73 for a two-round total of 141 (-3). No other individual finished under par on the day, though Denver's Tony Giarratano stands only four shots back at 145.
The USD Invitational will wrap up on Tuesday with a final round that starts at 7 a.m.
