Varsity Squads Pick Up Pair Of Wins

COVENTRY, CT (April 7) – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team won two races against the University of Massachusetts and the University of New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon in Coventry, CT.
The Varsity Four squad took first place in their race in a time of 8:29.30. Umass placed second behind UConn with a time of 8:37.40. The Huskies also took the Varsity Eight race in a time of 7:09.60, with New Hampshire placing second at 7:15.10.
The UConn Novice Eight boat finished second behind UMass (7:15.20), in a time of 7:25.90. The Novice Four boat also finished second to UMass (8:33.90) with a time of 8:54.90. The Junior Varsity Four squad finished second to UMass (8:02.80) in a time of 8:27.70 while the Junior Varsity Eight squad finished third in a time of 7:32.60.
The Huskies will next compete at the Knect Cup in Camden, NJ on April 13.
