Huskies Race Three in Final Day Action of Dad Vail

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 11) – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team completed final day action at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday afternoon. The competition was the last of the season for the team and will resume again in the fall.
The Women’s Junior Varsity Eight squad finished third in its semifinal heat advancing to the day’s final. In the final race, UConn had a fifth place finish in its heat with a time of 7:05.10.
The Women’s Varsity Eight boat had a fourth place finish (6:37.4), behind Villanova, UMass Amherst and Fordham, which advanced the Huskies into the Petite Final. Connecticut finished first in its heat of the Petite Final in a time of 6:50.6, placing seventh overall of 44 boats.
The last race was the Women’s Novice Eight with the top two boats advancing to the finals. The team earned a third place final in a time of 6:58.6, behind Boston College and Delaware.
