UConn's NCAA Third Round Game Time Against Michigan Announced

STORRS, CT (November 17) -- After defeating Boston University and Central Connecticut this past weekend, and advancing into the third round of the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer College Cup, the University of Connecticut women’s soccer team will play host to Michigan on Sunday, November 23 at 12:00 noon at Morrone Stadium in Storrs, CT.
The winner of Sunday’s contest will take on either Villanova or BYU in the NCAA Quarterfinal. UConn has now hosted at least one round of the NCAA Tournament for ten consecutive years.
UConn, 12-5-3, is ranked No. 18 in the land, and is led by junior BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year Kristen Graczyk (Albuquerque, NM). With her one goal one assist performance in UConn 3-2 double-overtime victory over Central Connecticut on Sunday, Graczyk became UConn’s all-time leading point and goals scorer with 15 and six respectively. Graczyk has scored 16 goals and dished out 10 assists this season for 42 points. Graczyk became just the ninth player in UConn history to record 100 career points with her assist in the second half of Sunday’s game.
Michigan advanced into the round of 16 thanks to its 1-0 win over Oakland in the first round, and then its 1-0 upset of No. 2 seed Notre Dame on Sunday. Michigan, 11-7-6 overall, 4-2-4 in the Big Ten, is ranked No. 24 nationally by the NSCAA. The Wolverines have won eight of their last ten games, and advanced to the Big Ten Tournament Final where they fell 2-0 to Illinois.
