Melissa Kull Qualifies for NCAA Diving Championships

BUFFALO, NY (MARCH 15) - Senior diver Melissa Kull (Poughkeepsie, NY) had an outstanding performance at the NCAA Zone A qualifying meet to qualify for the NCAA Diving Championships in Auburn, AL, on March 20-22.
Kull set a UConn school record in the one-meter dive with a score of 495.35, which was good for fourth place. In the three-meter event Kull posted a score of 442.55 for second place. The individual winners for the two events were in the one-meter Mary Campioli (512.00) of George Mason and in the three-meter Lisa Silvestri (454.85) of Penn State. Kull and Julie Van Deusen (Delaware) were the only two divers to finish in the top five in both events.
Other UConn divers at the qualifying meet were sophomore Alisha Lee (Seekonk, MA) and junior Chase Dunlap (Canadaigua, NY). Lee finished 24th in the one-meter and 37th in the three-meter, while Dunlap finished 18th in the one-meter and 11th in the three-meter.
