UConn Shuts Out Providence

STORRS, CT (April 3) - The University of Connecticut’s women’s tennis team shut out Providence College, 6-0 in Thursday’s matchup at the UConn Tennis Courts in Storrs, CT. The victory improves UConn’s record to 9-6 on the season.
The Huskies won all of their singles matches and did not play any doubles. Colleen Connors played strong in the sweep, as she shut out her opponent in both sets, 6-0, 6-0. UConn’s number one player, Trinell Russell, also had a good outing, beating her opponent, Cheri Lapane, 6-2, 6-0.
The Huskies return to action on Saturday April 5 as they play host to the Georgetown Hoyas. Match time is set for 12 noon.
