Men's Golf Finishes Seventh In Season Opener

NEW BRITAIN, CONN. (Sept. 14) – The University of Connecticut’s men’s golf team placed seventh out of 12 schools competing in the Blue Devil Invitational at the Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, Conn. UConn shot a 607 (+35) in the two-round season-opening event that was won by Rhode Island with a score of 585 (+13). The course played at par 72 on Saturday and par 71 on Sunday.
Jordan Burke and Daniel Keefe tied for the top UConn golfer honors by finishing the two-day, two-round event with a score of 151 (+8) to tie for 17th overall. Justin Ciombor tied for 25th with a 153 (+10), Mike Murphy tied for 29th with a 154 (+11) and Jeff Stebbins rounded out the UConn golfers with a score of 155 (+12) to tie for 33rd place.
