Huskies Announce Team Captains for Upcoming Season

STORRS, CT (Sept. 15) - The University of Connecticut women’s tennis team has chosen juniors Whitney Simcik (below, Exeter, PA), Jennifer LoRusso (left, Shoreham, NY) and Barbara Schumsky (right, West Hartford, CT) as team captains for the 2003-04 season.
The women’s tennis team has no seniors this year, but head coach Glenn Marshall believes this class of juniors is one of his best recruiting classes in his 12-year tenure at Connecticut. The three girls will be leading the squad through one of the toughest schedules the Huskies have ever faced, with their ultimate goal being an invitation to the BIG EAST Championship at the end of the spring season.
The women’s tennis team opens their Fall season on Wednesday, Sept. 17, when they host Hartford at 3:00 pm.
