Canisius Blanks Mens Hockey, 4-0

The teams played a scoreless first period before the Golden Griffins notched their first of the game at 11:28 in the second as David Ovcjak registered his first of the year from Joel Kitchen and Mike Ruberto. Michael Cohen then gave Canisius a 2-0 lead on a power play goal 13:03 into the stanza off a feed from Andrew Dawe and Ovcjak.
Canisius added two even-strength goals in the third as James Lecuyer and Chris Angleo posted tallies at 14:30 and 18:03, respectively.
Bryan Worosz made 30 saves in net for the Golden Griffins, while freshman goaltender Brad Smith (Detroit, Mich.) stopped 20 shots for Connecticut.
The Huskies continue their two-game stint in Buffalo, N.Y., with a 7:00 p.m. contest against Canisius on Saturday, Nov. 20.
