Rutgers Defeats UConn 6-1 in Men's Tennis

PISCATAWAY, NJ (April 18) – The Rutgers men’s tennis team defeated the University of Connecticut, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Scarlet Knights improved to 4-8 overall and 4-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, while the Huskies drop to 4-8 overall and 0-4 in the BIG EAST.
UConn’s lone win came at the No. 6 singles spot when junior Sam Sutherland (Tampa, Fla.) defeated Alex Trevooren by scores of 7-6, 7-6. Senior Mike Louis (New York, N.Y.) took his No. 4 singles match to three sets, but was narrowly defeated 6-4 in the third set by Matthew Facwett.
The Huskies will return to action on Monday, April 19 when they play at Boston College at 2:30 p.m.
