Parajeckas Captures NEIGA Championship As Huskies Finish Third

BREWSTER, Mass. (Oct. 18) - Junior Jason Parajeckas (Woburn, Mass.) captured the individual title with a five-under par 139 (69-70) as the University of Connecticut golf team finished in third place at the 71st Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship. The defending champions, UConn had a 605 (303-302) for the tournament.
Sophomore A.J. Siekierski (North Grovenordale, Conn.) was the next UConn finisher in the field, tying for eighth with a 149 (74-75) for the two rounds. Sophomore Brian Travalja (Oradell, N.J.) tied for 67th with a 160 (81-79) for the two days, while junior Daniel White (Westford, Mass.) and sophomore Ryan Dandeneau (Chepachet, R.I.) tied for 101st with scores of 164, rounds of 86-78 and 79-85 respectively. UConn was in fourth position after the first round of play on Monday.
The University of Rhode Island captured the team title with a team score of 592 after two rounds of 295 and 297.
The Huskies are next in action on Saturday, Oct. 22 when they travel to the Hawks Invitational in West Hartford, Conn. The tournament will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 23.
