WAKEFIELD, Mass. (October 24, 2005) - Freshman Jon Anderson (Vadnais Heights, Minn.) was named Co-Rookie of the Week by the Atlantic Hockey Association on Monday afternoon. Anderson started his first game in goal for the Huskies, helping lead the team to its first win of 2005-06. Fellow classmate Chris Myhro (Eden Prairie, Minn.) was named to the AHA honor roll for the second consecutive week for his contributions in the team's weekend series against Merrimack.
Anderson allowed only one goal in his time between the pipes on Saturday night. He recorded 36 saves on the night and survived 10 minutes worth of power plays without allowing a goal. This win was the second win over a Hockey East team in program history, and the first time the Huskies have beat the Warriors since the program begin in 1960.
Myhro was recognized with his second honor roll mention for scoring his third goal in three games for the Huskies. On Friday he scored the Huskies' lone goal of the game and on Saturday he scored the first goal in the team's 2-1 win.
