ISSUE, Md. (April 3, 2005) - The University of Connecticut men’s golf team finished in 20th place out of 25 competing schools at the rain-shortened George Washington Invitational at the par-72 Swan Point Yacht and Country Club in Issue, Md. UConn's single round score of 326 (+38) left it two strokes ahead of Hofstra University. Villanova won the event by shooting a 303. Amidst poor conditions, none of the 130 competitors shot even or below par.
Justin Ciombor's 80 led all Huskies as he tied for 55th overall. A.J. Siekierski was a stroke behind Ciombor, tying for 66th overall. Senior Jordan Burke's 82 tied him for 76th place while Jason Parajeckas tied for 83rd overall with his 83. Brian Travalja shot an 89 to tie for 116th.
UConn will return to action April 9-10 at the Yale Spring Classic. The Huskies won this event in 2003.
