Gurney Named First Team All-New England
STORRS, Conn. (May 19) - University of Connecticut softball senior pitcher Jessica Gurney (Williamstown, Mass.) was named to the New England Intercollegiate Softball Coaches Association 2005 All-Star First Team on Thursday.
Gurney posted a 15-16 record during the 2004 season with a 2.06 ERA. She totaled 27 complete games with eight shutouts and struck out 217 batters. As a junior, Gurney earned a spot on the NEISCA All-Star Honorable mention squad. She also recently received 2005 All-BIG EAST Third Team postseason honors.
