Women's Swimming and Diving Tops Army, 161-131
STORRS, Conn. (November 11, 2006) – Led by nine first place finishes women’s swimming and diving defeated Army by a score of 161-131 on Saturday afternoon in the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium.
The win is the first of the season for the women, giving them a record of 1-2 in dual meet competition.
Danielle Sanders (Mississauga, Ontario), Juliet Paradine (Garden City, N.Y.), Kristalynn Kempton (Glen Head, N.Y.), Jordan Zarin (Rockville, Md.), Liza Marianni (Cherry Hill, N.J.), Emily Karel (Bethesda, Md.), Lisa Shelps (Quakertown, Pa.), Courtney Haney (Mesa, Ariz.) and Sarah Kearns (Milford, Mass.) all took wins in the 16 event women’s meet.
The Huskies also compiled 10 second place finishes giving them a top-two finisher in 12 events.
Connecticut will return to action on Thursday, November 16, when they travel to the University of Maryland’s Terrapin Cup. The event will take place over the course of three days at the Campus Recreation Center Natatorium located on the campus of the University of Maryland in College Park, Md.
