Women's Tennis Falls at Seton Hall, 6-1

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (March 28) -- Christine Burek was a winner at No. 2 singles but the University of Connecticut women's tennis team fell by a 6-1 score to Seton Hall on Tuesday afternoon at the Meadowlands Courts in South Orange, N.J. UConn dips to 4-9 this spring while the Pirates are now 7-5.
Seton Hall swept the three doubles matches to open play with the tightest coming at the second position where Jaclyn Shapiro and Jessica Porter battled to an 8-4 defeat. Burek was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Slyvia Jaros in singles play but the Pirates swept the other five matches. Shapiro (No. 1) and Porter (No. 3) each pushed their opponents to a third set before falling.
The Huskies return to action on Saturday when they play host to Pittsburgh at 1:00 p.m.
