Men's Tennis Action on Day One of UConn Invite

STORRS, Conn. (September 29, 2006) - The University of Connecticut men's tennis team opened the first day of play of the UConn Invite on Friday, Sept. 29, in Storrs, Conn.
In singles, freshman Joe Goldstein (Tucson, Ariz.) won a 6-1, 6-1 match over Gowder of Hartford in flight two. Junior Michael Bobitski (Fort Myers, Fla.) fell in flight three to Chudacoff of Boston University 6-0, 6-4.
In doubles action, the No.2 Huskies defeated Monmouth, 8-6 and then the No.1 UConn pair took down Sacred Heart 8-5, both in flight A. No.3 UConn won an 8-3 match over Quinnipiac in flight B while UConn's No.4 duo defeated Hartford 8-4.
The Huskies continue play tomorrow in day two of the UConn Invite.
