Day Two of Men's Tennis UConn Invite

STORRS, Conn. (September 30, 2006) - The University of Connecticut men's tennis team continued play at its own UConn Invite on Saturday, September 30, 2006 in Storrs, Conn.
Senior Joel Gamoran (Mercer Island, Wash.) was the day's biggest winner as he defeated Monmouth's Hart 6-0, 6-0 before taking down Kelly of Fairfield 6-3, 6-2. He then won a 6-3, 6-1 match over Quinnipiac's Feldman. He will face Nyugen of Marist tomorrow.
In Flight one, sophomore Ben Schueler (Arlington, Mass.) got a 6-1, 6-7, 10-5 win over Corrie of Monmouth before falling to Hartford's Baglan, 6-2, 6-4. Sophomore Joey Michaels (Rochester Hills, Mich.) defeated Sica of Holy Cross 7-6, 6-1 before losing to Costin from Rhode Island 6-3, 6-2.
Freshman Joe Goldstein (Tucson, Ariz.) got a 6-1, 6-2 win over Monmouth's McLane and then fell to Sherrill of Quinnipiac 7-6, 6-3 in flight two. Junior Nate Carvalho (Freetown, Mass.) lost a 6-1, 6-7, 10-7 match to Cote of Hartford.
In flight three, junior Aaron Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, Conn.) was defeated by Lohr of BU 4-6, 6-3, 11-9, while sophomore Jeff Klar (Marietta, Ga.) lost a 6-1, 7-6 match to Monmouth's Forrest.
The Huskies will wrap up play of the UConn Invite tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 1.
