Field Hockeys Anna Easty Selected to Attend Canadian Junior National Team Trials

STORRS, Conn. (December 14, 2007) – University of Connecticut field hockey freshman Anna Easty (Toronto, Ontario) has been selected to participate at the Canadian Junior National Team Trials, scheduled for March 20-25 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Easty appeared in 16 games for UConn during her freshman season, while making one start. She was a factor for the Huskies’ in both the midfield and forward positions in 2007 as Connecticut posted a 22-3 mark and advanced to the NCAA National Semifinals for the second consecutive season. The Huskies also claimed the BIG EAST Regular Season and Tournament titles in 2007.
Easty was a three-time team MVP at Havergal College in Toronto, Canada where she recorded double-figure goals and assists in each of the last three seasons, including a career-best 21 goals and 13 assists as a senior.
She was a member of the 2006 U19 Indoor Provincial Team which won a gold medal at the national tournament. She guided Havergal College (Ont.) to a 26-7-6 mark over her final three years and was a four-year member of the academic honor roll.
