Feldman Earns NCAA All-Academic Honors

STORRS, Conn. (February 22, 2007) — University of Connecticut men’s cross country senior Max Feldman (Easton, Conn.) was one of just 50 runners nationwide to earn a 2006 NCAA Division I All-Academic men’s cross country individual honor.
To earn All-Academic individual honors, runners were required to have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.25.
This season, Feldman was one of UConn’s top runners in every meet in which he competed. He finished second at the Quinnipiac Invitational with a time of 25:49 to help lead the Huskies to a second place finish in the meet. In the following meet, Feldman went on to capture the individual title with a time of 24:17 at the New England Cross Country Championships in guiding UConn to a fourth place finish.
Feldman turned in a fifth place finish at the Albany Invitational with a time of 24:58 as the Huskies placed second as a team in the event. He placed 12th at the BIG EAST Championships with a time of 24:01, and followed that by placing eighth at the NCAA Regionals with a time of 31:50, qualifying him for the NCAA Championships. At NCAA Regionals, Feldman finished in 135th place with a time of 32.55.3
All toll, Feldman finished the 2006 cross country season with four top-10 finishes and lead the Huskies in five meets over the course of the season.
