Golf Stands Third at Yale Spring Open

NEW HAVEN, Conn (April 7, 2007)-- Senior Jason Parajeckas (Woburn, Mass) shot a one-over par 71 Saturday to help the University of Connecticut golf team to a third place team standing after day one of the Yale Men's Spring Open at the Yale University Golf Course.
UConn shot a team score of 297 to hold down the third spot in the team standings, behind first day leader Harvard University (294) and second place finisher Johnson & Wales University (Fla.) (296). Parajeckas' 71 puts him in fourth place among individuals, three shots out of the lead held by Harvard's Michael Shore, who shot a 68.
Junior A.J. Siekierski (North Grosvenordale, Conn) and his brother, sophomore Bret Siekierski, each shot a 75 Saturday and stand in a tie for 14th place overall. Sophomore L.J. Tosches (Grafton, Mass) shot a 76 to tie for 25th and junior Brian Travalja (Oradell, N.J.) is tied for 33rd place after shooting a 77.
The tournament concludes Sunday.
