Micah Truax Named Easton Softball All-American

STORRS, Conn. (June 3, 2007) - Sophomore Micah Truax (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) continues to garner postseason honors as she was named to the 2007 Easton All-American Third Team according to Easton Sports.
Truax was named the BIG EAST Player of the Year after leading the team in home runs with 11 - the most in a single season in UConn history. She also had a team-best 33 runs and was tops on the team in total bases with 84. She finished the season with a .338 batting average with 46 hits and posted 29 RBI.
Combined with her seven home runs from 2006, Truax has 18 for her career which ranks second only behind Assistant Coach Andrea D'Innocenzo's 20 as a player from 1992-95.
Truax was also tabbed to the Northeast All-Region First Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
Forty-five student-athletes were named to the 2007 Easton All-America first, second and third teams from NCAA Division I colleges.
