Golf Struggles in Day One at MTSU/Aldila Intercollegiate

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (March 31, 2008)-- University of Connecticut senior Brian Travalja stands in a tie for 16th place overall after the first day of competition at the Middle Tennessee Aldila Intercollegiate at Old Fort Golf Club.
The Huskies struggled to a team total of 626 for the two rounds on day one and stand in 11th place out of 11 teams. Middle Tennessee State holds the team lead at 581.
Travalja shot a 75 in the morning and followed that up with a one-over 73. Grant Leaver of Austin Peay shot 71-69--140 to hold the individual lead.
The tournament concludes Tuesday with one 18-hole round starting at 8:00 a.m.
