All Tournament Team Named For 2008 UConn Classic

STORRS, Conn. (September 14, 2008) - The All-Tournament team has been named for the 2008 UConn Classic. Three members of Brown, UCLA and Penn State have been named to the team and two members of the UConn squad made the list.
From Brown, Brenna Hogue, Bridget Ballard, and Sarah Hebert-Seropian made squad. Hogue was stellar in goal all weekend shutting out both #11 Penn State and #1 UCLA and making 30 saves in the two games. Hogue was also named MVP of the UConn Classic. Ballard was strong on defense for the Bears and Hebert-Seropian scored the game winning goal for Brown in the 1-0 overtime defeat of the Nittany Lions.
For UCLA, Christina DiMartino, Sydney Leroux and McCall Zerboni were also named to the All-Tournament team. Leroux scored two goals in UCLA’s win over the Huskies on Friday night. DiMartino and Zerboni brought a lot of offense to the game for UCLA even though they were unable to score on Brown goalie Hogue.
For the Nittany Lions, Katie Schoepfer, Danielle Toney and Nikki Watts were all voted onto the team by the coaches. Schoepfer took 12 shots with six on goal for one goal on the weekend helping Penn State to a 1-1 record on the weekend. Toney also scored for Penn State in their game against UConn and Nikki Watts contributed to the offense all weekend.
Lauren Ebert and Kacey Richards both made the All-Tournament team for the Huskies. Both Ebert and Richards contributed greatly on defense for the Huskies. Richards finished the weekend with three shots, two of which on goal against their top-ranked opponents.
