Four UConn Athletic Events On Cox Sports This Fall

STORRS, Conn. - Four University of Connecticut sporting events will be televised by Cox Sports Television this fall as part of the ongoing partnership between Cox and UConn that began three years ago.
The four events will be: UConn vs. Providence men's soccer, UConn vs. Massachusetts field hockey, UConn vs. Syracuse volleyball and UConn vs. West Virginia women's soccer.
The men's soccer game will be played on Tuesday, Oct. 6 and be shown on Cox on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 8:00 p.m. The field hockey game will be played on Friday, Oct. 9 and be shown on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1:00 p.m. The volleyball game will be played on Sunday, Oct. 11 and be shown on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. The women's soccer game will be played on Friday, Oct. 23 and will air on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Cox Sports Television is a regional sports network based out of Lincoln, R.I., and services Cox cable television systems in 19 Connecticut cities and towns and the state of Rhode Island. The Connecticut cities and towns serviced by Cox include: Cheshire, East Granby, East Windsor, Enfield, Glastonbury, Granby, Hartland, Manchester, Meriden, Newington, Rocky Hill, Somers, Southington, South Windsor, Suffield, Wethersfield, Windsor Locks and Union.
John Tuite, of WILI-AM Radio in Willimantic and the long-time voice of UConn soccer on WHUS-FM Radio in Storrs, will do play-by-play for the men's and women's soccer games. Former Husky Jill Laufer will do color for the women's soccer game while David Farrell of the Oakwood Soccer Club in Glastonbury, Conn., will do color for the men's game.
Mark Brown of ESPN International will provide play-by-play for the volleyball game while Dorothy Franco-Reid will be the color announcer.
Scott Cordischi, a veteran Rhode Island sports announcer, will do play-by-play for field hockey.
