Alvarez Named Soccer America Player of the Week

STORRS, Conn. -
UConn men's soccer freshman, Carlos Alvarez was named the Soccer America Player of the Week, announced Tuesday morning.
Alvarez, who also earned a spot on the Soccer America Team of the Week, assisted on two goals in each of a pair of Connecticut road wins over Yale (2-0) and Seton Hall (3-1).
The freshman leads the Huskies as well as the BIG EAST in assists with 11 on the year and has registered 17 points (with three goals) during his rookie campaign at UConn.
Alvarez and the Huskies will face off with Marquette on Wednesday night at Morrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn. for their final regular season game at home. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
