BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- What a busy day for the UConn football team as they continue to prepare for the 2010 Papajohns.com Bowl. UConn takes on South Carolina on Saturday at historic Legion Field at 2 p.m.
Thursday began with a final full practice at Hoover High School. As is tradition, the UConn seniors all switched jersey numbers and then hugged and shook hands with their teammates and coaches at the conclusion.
UConn then toured the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute in the afternoon after South Carolina made the same trip in the morning. That was followed by a quick visit to Legion Field to take a team photo.
The day was capped off with a "Bowling and Barbeque Challenge" with both teams that featured the world famous Dreamland BBQ.
