PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After a thrilling 29-27 last second victory over South Florida, juniors Zach Frazer (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and Scott Lutrus (Bloomfield, Conn.) and sophomore Dave Teggart (Northborough, Mass.) all earned BIG EAST Honor Roll honors. This is the first BIG EAST acknowledgement of the season for the trio.
Frazer was close to perfect in the game against the Bulls going 20-for-30 for 225 yards for two touchdowns and no interceptions in blizzard-like conditions. Frazer connected with senior Marcus Easley (Stratford, Conn.) for a 44-yard pickup, a game-long, which set up the Huskies first touchdown of the night.
Lutrus was unstoppable in just his fifth game back from an injury that kept him out nearly half the season. He made a game-high 11 tackles with 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery in the Husky victory. Lutrus' sack of B.J. Daniels in the beginning of the third quarter pushed the Bulls back to the four-yard line forcing them to punt and eventually setting up the Huskies third TD of the game.
It was Teggart that sealed the victory for the Huskies with a 42-yard field goal in blustery conditions on senior night. After having a 46-yard field goal blocked at the beginning of the fourth quarter, Teggart lined up to kick a 42-yarder that would give the Huskies the win and blasted it directly through the uprights.
Frazer, Lutrus, Teggart and the Huskies are all back in action in the Papa John's Bowl in Birmingham, Ala. on January 2, 2010 at 2 p.m. ET/ 1 p.m. CT.
