STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team will join the students of Verplanck Elementary School on Wednesday.
As part of the Husky Reach reading program, the elementary students were challenged by Connecticut student-athletes to read 1,000,000 minutes during the 2008-09 school year. Verplanck reached that goal on Feb. 13 to become reading millionaires.
Several athletic teams at UConn volunteered at the school throughout the year, including several members of the women's tennis team.
