STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut fans will have a number of ways to follow the Husky baseball team as it takes part in the 2009 BIG EAST Conference Championship from May 19-23 at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Florida. Pairings and game times for the tournament will be finalized after the regular season concludes on Saturday.
WTIC.com, the website of WTIC NewsTalk 1080, will broadcast all of the Husky games from the BIG EAST Tournament online. Joe D'Ambrosio, the play-by-play voice of UConn football and men's basketball, will be behind the microphone. The 2009 tournament will mark the second time that WTIC has streamed coverage of UConn baseball at the BIG EAST Championship, as the station was also there in 2007 at Coney Island, N.Y., when the Huskies advanced to the title game.
UConn's student and community radio station, WHUS-91.7 FM, will also broadcast all Husky games from the BIG EAST tournament.
The BIG EAST Conference will produce a live streaming video broadcast of every game from the tournament, with the exception of Saturday's final, which will be broadcast live on ESPNU. The streaming video broadcasts can be found at www.bigeastbaseball.com. and a tournament package subscription is priced at $12.95. Monday's opening ceremonies and Home Run Derby, which begins at 6:00 p.m. will be streamed for free.
All games of the 2009 BIG EAST Baseball Championship will also be available on satellite radio on XM Channel 203 and Sirius Channel 217.
