Men's Hockey Hosts 20th Annual Golf Outing

STORRS, Conn. - For the 20th straight year, the University of Connecticut men's hockey team hosted their annual golf outing. On June 1, 2009 alumni of the hockey program, along with administrators and friends of hockey got together to celebrate the past season of UConn Hockey and help raise money for the program.
Thirty-one foursomes participated at the event which began with time at the driving range and a pre-tee off cookout. The team of Mike Goldkind, Mike Anderson, Marc Senerchia and Eric Goclowski took home first place bragging rights with a score of 59.
Following behind them in second and third were the foursomes of Pat Henderson, Bob Bongo, Dave Cornett and Bryan Quinn and Brian Hitchings, Kevin Landry, Tim McCann and Bob Falvey with a score of 60.
The nine top-scoring teams each received a prize for their efforts. Also receiving prizes were Karen Gigliotti for the longest drive on the third hole, Chris Kiene for the same on hole 13 and Nick Mayo for his shot on #16.
On the seventh and seventeenth holes, there was a closest to the pin competition. Mike Anderson was the man to come closest to the hole on #7 while Ellen Mahoney earned the honors for the women. At hole 17, Mahoney earned closest to the pin honors among woman participants once again while Frank Magisano was the closest among the men.
